Spring/Summer 2011 – Trend spotting

Go shopping. Go personal

Colletee Dinnigan SS2011

Keep notes girlfriends: we are still in November and thinking of white Christmases, knits, fur trimming and heeled oxfords, but Planet Fashion has spring and summer on the brain. Even if you are shopping for winter stuff at the moment, keep the 2011 spring/summer trend list handy, as it never hurts to buy clothes that are multi-seasonal, you can wear now and afterwards, and you’ll definitely look ahead of the pack.

Spring 2011 promises to transform us into ethereal bohemian yet elegant existences –Chloé-, with hems  either above the knee, or maxi A.F. Vandevorst -, and in boxy mini dresses with matching pumps in happy vibrant colours resembling Catherine Deneuve as shown at the Alexandre Herchcovitch show. For those of you that like to wear ‘uniforms’  Hermès is a safe bet with its signature equestrian minimal style of  roomy blouses and figure hugging pants in a beige and milk palette.

I was drawn to the collections of Paul & Joe and Elie Saab as a bee to honey… This spring I will be sporting cigarette pants, floaty blouses, maxis, deux-piece mini skirt suits, and silk shorts with a 70s inspiration in yummy colours such as mandarin orange, sunny yellow and white,  paired with silver accessories and tan sandals. How can one wait? 🙂
