The Constume Institute’s Gala celebrated the opening of the long awaited exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which will be on until the 31st of July, 2011. Stars attended, many sporting McQueen creations with Sarah Burton -the Creative Director and the designer of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress- leading the pack.
Among my favourite beauties who attended the Gala, was Anna Wintour, who went agaist all her suggestions to her staff to wear McQueen and came in a breathtaking Chanel number, Giselle Bundchen in a fabulous crimson McQueen, and Iman who was a vision in Stella McCartney. Bravo! Among the ones that needed to be arrested by fashion police were Naomi Cambell (a tiara Naomi?!?) and Beyonce, who have much too loud personalities -the former- and derriers – the latter- and just looked part of a Halloween parade.
But to go back to the exhibition itself. McQueen had a long and fruitful carreer of 19 years which will be featured in the brilliant rooms of the Institute at the Met. That is approximately one hundred ensembles and seventy accessories! Click here for details and information.
Long live the McQueen heritage.
